When Kai Furuta debuts as Billy on the OFC Creations Theatre Centre Stage, he will become the 338th boy in the world to play the title role in BETM in a professional, regional or community theater production of the musical.
Kai has been dancing at the Draper Center for Dance Education, which is the official training school for the Rochester Ballet, for eight years. In Kai’s own words, he has been taking dancing lessons “forever”.
Previous to BETM at OFC Creations, Kai’s stage experience includes appearing in productions of Willy Wonka, Moana, and Into the Woods.

Kai’s future aspiration for when he is older is to be an actor on Broadway.
