Peter Hjellnes-Moseng was 13 years old when he made his debut as Billy in the Sandvika production of BETM. He is from Oslo.
Since the first grade, Peter has been taking dance classes at Step Studio in Oslo. He has also sung in Oslo Cathedral’s boys choir.
Peter has a wealth of previous performing experience on stage, including:
- ‘Bobo’ in The Wolf in 2018 (National Theatre of Norway in Oslo)
- Journey to the Christmas Star (National Theatre of Norway in Oslo)
- ‘Jo Jo’ in Annie in Jan 2019 & in Jan 2020 (Koffers Produksjoner)
His biggest role to date was when he starred as Charlie Bucket in Det Norske Teatret’s production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in 2019/20.
Alongside his busy stage career, Peter has also found time to get some experience in film and TV. He played ‘Moa’ in the TV series Stardust (2020) and ‘Knotten’ in Kristiania Magiske Tivolitheater (2021). In the 2020 film Gledelig Jul (Merry Christmas), Peter played the role of ‘Tony’. Furthermore, he has done a lot of voice work for films and TV shows that are being dubbed into Norwegian.
Peter first auditioned for the role of Billy in September 2020, and in August 2021 the public announcement was made that he would be starring in the lead role in the Sandvika production of BETM.
His debut performance on 7-Jun-2022 makes Peter the 323rd young actor worldwide to play the role of Billy in a professional, regional or community theatre production of the musical.
