Julia Taylor was 15 years old and a sophmore in high school when she debuted as Billy Elliot in the Amelia Community Theatre production of BETM. She is a native of Fernandina Beach.
Julia is no stranger to the Amelia Community Theatre (ACT) stage, having appeared in productions there since the tender age of 18 months old. When she’s not performing, Julia enjoys creating choreography and hanging out with friends. She’s also involved with Little Women, an organization that promotes sisterhood and volunteerism. She is also a member of the ACT-ed Teen Board.
Julia has been a student at the Royal Amelia Dance Academy for 13 years, where she’s studied tap, jazz, ballet and contemporary dance.
Julia says her favorite part of the BETM production is “working with so many new people and the opportunity to embrace a new and challenging role”.
With her debut, Julia becomes the 352nd young performer to bring the role of Billy Elliot to life on stage in a professional, regional or community theatre production of the musical.
