Meet the Eldest Billy: Kim Seung-ju
At just 13 years old and still in sixth grade, Kim Seung-ju is the eldest of the four boys cast as Billy in this production. He already stands out for his professional musical theatre background — something that made him shine during the year-and-a-half-long audition process.
Seung-ju’s previous credits include successful runs in Matilda, Les Misérables, and Frankenstein. Having already performed professionally on stage multiple times before turning 13, he brought a remarkable level of experience and confidence that really stood out during the long audition process.

During an interview with Wee Magazine before the production opened, Seung-ju was asked the question Billy is asked in the show: “What does it feel like when you’re dancing?” Seung-ju’s reply: “It’s hard to explain, but when I dance, only this very moment remains.”
