Algot Olsson was 12 years old when he debuted as Billy in the Kristianstad production of BETM. He is from Gislöv, which is in southern Sweden and known for its scenic countryside, proximity to the coast, and historical sites like the medieval Gislöv Church.
Algot has previous stage experience, having sung in the Malmö Opera children’s choir for just over three years. He has appeared as a child extra in two productions at Malmö Opera – The Makropulos Case and Cosi fan tutte. He also appeared in Malmö Opera’s production of Turandot together with the children’s choir.
Outside of singing and performing on stage, Algot’s other interests include sport, mostly orienteering and running.

Algot has watched the film Billy Elliot many times and is really looking forward to playing the role of Billy on the Kristianstad Theatre stage alongside the rest of the cast.
With his debut performance as Billy on 26-Sep-2025, Algot becomes the 381st young actor worldwide to play the role in a professional, regional or community theatre production of the musical. He ended upleading 14 performances as Billy in Kristianstad.
Helsingborg, Sweden
Algot auditioned and was cast as Billy once again, a year later, in Helsingborg, Sweden.
