A production of Billy Elliot The Musical (BETM) will be presented by the Engadine Musical Society, Inc., October 18-27, 2024 at the Engadine Theatre which is located in the Engadine Community Centre. Engadine is a suburb in southern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales (NSW), Australia.
Engadine Musical Society is a community amateur theatre group based in the Sutherland Shire in southern Sydney. Engadine Musical Society’s first production was The Mikado in 1976, which was staged at Heathcote High School. In 1979, the newly built Engadine Community Centre was opened and the society moved to this venue.
Over the following 35 years Engadine Musical Society has evolved from the initial small family group to the society it is today. The Society’s goal is to present shows of the highest standards whilst maintaining the ideals of the founding members – that this should be a community-based musical theatre group.

Billy Elliot The Musical
In November 2023, Engadine Musical Society announced that they would be mounting a production of BETM the following year.
Auditions for all roles were held between May 30-June 5, 2024 and then the full cast was announced on June 7. Some of the children’s roles were all double cast including the lead role of Billy, which will be shared by Cameron Clark and Lachlan Stirling.
