Jacob Kaiser was 11 years old (d.o.b. = 25-Jul-2006) at the time of his debut as Billy in the Porchlight Music Theatre production of BETM. His hometown is Chicago.
Like his fellow Billy at Porchlight, Lincoln Seymour, Jacob is a member of the All About Dance Company, where he began dancing at the age of three. During the roughly eight years he’s studied at All About Dance, Jacob has taken classes in tap, ballet, jazz, modern and tumbling.
Other than dance, Jacob has no previous theatrical experience.
When Porchlight Music Theatre announced audtions for BETM, his instructors at All About Dance forwarded the information to Jacob and his family and he tried out, earning the shared role of the title character in the show.
Rehearsals began on August 28, 2017 and took about 30 hours per week of Jacob’s time.
With his debut in the Porchlight Music Theatre production, Jacob becomes the 224th actor to portray Billy in a professional, regional or community theatre production of the musical.
