A production of Billy Elliot The Musical (BETM) will be presented by the Red Tree Theatre in Tuggerah, Australia from October 17-November 1, 2025.
Tuggerah is a large commercial hub and a suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia.
Elderslee Foundation, a community organization, purchased a warehouse in Tuggerah 
Straight in 2018 and transformed it into Red Tree Theatre, an arts and community centre that includes Elderlsee@Tuggerah, as well as 6 multipurpose spaces. Initially slated to open in early 2020, the global pandemic delayed the opening until February 2021.
The theatre features a sleek black box design that provides a versatile canvas for any performance, from intimate one-man shows to grand ensemble productions. The retractable seating system is the perfect solution for creating an intimate atmosphere, allowing the audience to feel like they are part of the performance. The theatre seats 144 and is equipped with state-of-the-art sound and lighting facilities.
Over the past four years, the venue has become a popular destination for community members, with over 10,000 visitors annually. It is a welcoming, relaxed space where people can come together to share their interests and passions, address community issues, and foster creativity. The creative staff for BETM are Lauren Miller as the Director, Marianne Powles is the Musical Director and Karina Graham-Wilson will fill the role of the Choreographer. It was announced that the production would re-stage Tony Award winning choreography of Peter Darling.
Auditions for the production of Billy Elliot The Musical were held from May 18-27, 2025. Once the show was cast, rehearsals began on June 3, 2025.
A 38 member cast will be led by two boys taking turns at starring in the lead role of Billy Elliot. They are Lachlan King and Adam Weinstein.
