Robin Beneš made his debut as Billy in the Czech production of BETM in Pilsen. The production has been running since May 2019 and Robin is one half of the third pair of young actors to take on the lead role of Billy.
Robin has been a music fan since he was very young. He was inspired by his sister, Patricia, who has performed in many operas and musicals, including performing in Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the DJKT Theatre, where BETM is staged.
Robin has been a member of the children’s choir of the DJKT Kajetán opera since the age of five, and he is currently performing with them in the opera Carmen. He has also performed in the opera Alceste, where he played the role of the king’s son “Eumel”. Robin is currently playing the role of “Christian Bechdel” in the musical Fun Home.
For schooling, Robin attends the ZUŠ Bedřich Smetana, where he is learning to play the guitar. He takes dance classes at the Step by Step Tap Studio and, from 2021, he is also a member of the DJKT Music Studio.
Outside of performing, Robin’s other hobby is hockey, which he plays in HC Plzeň.
Robin’s debut performance as Billy on 25-Feb-2023 makes him the 332nd young actor worldwide to play the role in a professional, regional or community theatre production of the musical.
