Moritz Fischli was 12 years old (D.O.B.= 28-Mar-2012) when he debuted as Billy in the Zurich production of BETM. He is from Lucerne.
Moritz currently attends an arts and sports school, but will start studying at the dance academy in Zurich from the spring. For the past four years dance has been his passion. He particularly loves classical ballet but also very much enjoys contemporary dance. Moritz is very dedicated to his dance studies, training for around ten hours a week. Outside of dance, Moritz’s other hobbies include producing electronic music and playing the piano.
When Moritz watched the film version Billy Elliot he was impressed by the dancing and wanted to have a go at it. In fact, it was the film that first got him interested in dance. Moritz was also fascinated by the character of Billy, so put himself forward when the casting call came out for the Zurich production.
Rehearsals for BETM began with week long camps in the Spring of 2024. Full rehearsals then began after the summer. Moritz is finding the other aspects of the role aside from ballet challenging — acting, singing and tap dance are all new to him. The role of Billy will be his first stage role.

With his debut performance as Billy on 27-Oct-2024, Moritz becomes the 366th young actor worldwide to play the role in a professional, regional or community theatre production of the musical.
