Total Performances as Billy to Date:  0 (As of 31-Oct-2026)

Noah Mannion was 12 years old when chosen to play Billy Elliot in the UK Tour and West End revival of the musical, but over the summer of 2026 he celebrated his 13th birthday.  He lives in Stockport, England, which is a town in the Great Manchester area of the country.

In many ways, Noah represents the classic Northern musical theatre discovery story. He says he has loved singing and dancing from an early age, whether performing for fun or entertaining his family at home. Early on Noah’s early fun pursuits were gymnastics and tennis, but it wasn’t long before he began formal musical theatre and dance training in Manchester,  joining a local dance school by nine years old. He began training in ballet, tap, modern, jazz, lyrical, contempory, acro and also singing. He is associated with Vale Danceworkz in Stockport and has trained with Sophie Dee Dance. He currently trains with Stagebox UK (Manchester Elite Training division) and is represented by Stagebox Management. It was Stagebox Management who put him forward from the “Emerging Boys” development list when Nick Hockaday’s team opened up the global search for Billy.

Before stepping into a theatrical rehearsal room, Noah had built an elite international competitive dance resume, and enjoying much success at regional dance competitions, both in solo and group performances. He has represented England at both Dance World Cup and the Global Dance Open. In 2025, after only two years of competitive dancing, Noah proudly represented England at both the Dance World Cup and the Global Dance Open, winning multiple medals and earning the title “Global World Champion”.

Noah says his favorite singers are Sienna Spiro, Olivia Dean and Bruno Mars. When he’s not performing, he exercises his creative talents by drawing, which he’s very good at.  He also enjoys taking the family’s pet dog, Rafa, for long walks in the countryside.

Notes on Billy Elliot The Musical

During the September 2026 press rehearsal previews before the opening of the production in Sunderland, Noah was selected to showcase the iconic “Dream Ballet (Swan Lake) pas de deux — alongside original 2005 Billy Liam Mower (who is now playing Older Billy in the show).

Together, they demonstrated  strong classical partnering, aerial control and lyrical phrasing.  His casting has generated major regional press in the North West ahead of the production’s five-week Christmas run at the Manchester Palace Theatre. It’ll serve as a hometown engagement for Noah.

A few days before the opening of the UK Tour in Sunderland, some of the BETM cast members visited Easington Colliery, where much of the 2000 film, Billy Elliot, was shot.  Here’s a photo of Noah performing the famous Billy jump at the back of Angus Street, Easington Colliery.  Picture by David Wood

Upon his debut as Billy, Noah will become the (number) performer in the world to bring the role to life on stage in a professional, regional or community theatre production of the musical.
