When Aarón was younger he didn’t want to dance, and had to be forced into it by his older brothers, but now he enjoys dancing.
At his first BETM audition in Córdoba Aarón was not selected. However, on his second attempt he got through to the Billy Elliot School and was eventually chosen as one of the Mexican Billys. Aarón has now spent 11 months living and training in Mexico City, rehearsing for up to eight hours a day.
Aarón says that there were things he didn’t know before this training, like acting, singing, tap and gymnastics. He had only done ballet before so he found the training and rehearsal period difficult, but with practice he was able to learn all the required skills.
Aarón can identify with Billy, as some of his relatives did not want him to dance. However, unlike Billy, Aarón’s mother and grandmother both supported him, and allowed him to pursue his passion.
In January 2017, the five original Mexican Billys were announced at a press event. Aarón performed Electricity at this event:

Aarón is very excited to perform as Billy Elliot and says that he feels super ready. In the future he would like to do more musical theatre.
Aarón’s debut performance as Billy Elliot was at the production’s opening night on 10-Feb-2017, when he became the world’s 184th Billy.
