Benedek Császár was 11 years old (d.o.b. = 18-Mar-2006) when he debuted as Billy in the second season of the Hungarian production of BETM at the Erkel Theatre in Budapest.
Benedek is a student at Madách Dance and Acting School, which is the dance school that provides the ballet girls for the production and also helps to train all the kids in the show. This is how Benedek became involved in BETM. In his words, he said that he “had been at the school for a year and then things just happened”.
Benedek’s debut as Billy Elliot on 8-Jul-2017 makes him the fifth Billy in Budapest and the 198th actor in the world to play the role.
