At New York City’s Imperial Theatre, the production began 40 previews on 1-Oct-2008 (Kiril Kulish was Billy) before the official Opening Night on 13-Nov-2008 with Trent Kowalik portraying Billy for the first of his record setting 175.5 times on Broadway (220 times overall as he had also previously played the role in London’s West End – the most of any Billy anywhere in the world). During the run of the show on Broadway, sixteen boys played the role on that Imperial Theatre stage.
