Cade Pearlman was 13-years-old (d.o.b. = 17-Jun-2003) when he debuted in the title role of Billy Elliot The Musical in the Highland Park Players production of the show. At the time, Cade was an 8th Grade student at the Edgewood Middle School.
Cade’s performance training has been at The Performers School in Highwood, IL, where he has been a member of The Ensemble. This is a professional-level performance company of 6th – 8th grade actors, selected by audition to work alongside top Chicago professional talent, culminating in performances under the direction of the co-founders of The Performer’s School, Stacey Flaster, and Liz Fauntleroy. The next production by that group will be Footloose: The Musical in December, 2016.
Cade has also spent two summers at the Harand Camp of the Theatre Arts. Located on the campus of Carthage College in Kenosha, WI, Harand offers non-competitive musical theater training for campers aged 7 to 18. Each session at Harand culminates in large-scale performances in a state-of-the-art theater.
He has appeared in the following musicals prior to BETM: 13, Legally Blonde, Shrek The Musical, Guys and Dolls, Princess and the Pea and Oklahoma.
Cade also has a film credit on his resume, having appeared in the 2015 Performers School movie Bystander, which was an awareness film dealing with anti-bullying.
Cade first heard about the upcoming auditions for Billy Elliot from a neighbor. After his successful audition, he began rehearsing in mid-August, four days per week for a total of about 12 hours each week.
Upon his debut as Billy on the Opening Night of the Highland Park Players production, Cade became the 167th boy in the world to portray Billy Elliot in a professional, regional or community theatre production of the show.
