Now in its 53rd year, the Camille Playhouse in Brownsville, Texas, has produced just about every major play or musical that exists over its long history as one of South Texas’ busiest and most respected community theaters. The Camille Playhouse has been “Bringing Broadway to Brownsville!” since 1964.
For the past several seasons, the Playhouse has averaged seven shows a season, mixing straight plays and musicals. This season’s shows, in addition to BETM, are Wit, The Addams Family, August: Osage County, 9 to 5, James and the Giant Peach JR., and Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
The BETM cast at Camille Playhouse was led by a young actor making his debut as Billy in this production. He is Campy Rodriguez.
