Eric Taylor was 10 years old (D.O.B. = 27-Jun-2007) when he made his debut as Billy Elliot at the D-Cube Arts Center in Seoul. He is half Korean and half New-Zealander.
Before auditioning for Billy Elliot, Eric had experience in acting and modelling but had never danced before. He says, “I started to learn ballet because of this audition and it was my first time dancing. My mom suggested I learn dance in the beginning, but now I love dancing.”
The improvement in Eric’s dancing must have impressed the BETM creative team because, after eight months of training, he was chosen as one of seven finalists for the role of Billy. The final audition was held a few months later and four Billys were announced, though Eric was not among them. However, a couple of months down the line it was announced that Eric would join those four as a fifth Billy.

Eric’s debut as Billy on 6-Dec-2017 makes him the 234th actor worldwide to play the role in a professional, regional or community theatre production of the musical.
