James Ciccarelle was 11-years-old, from Summit, NJ, when he debuted in the title role in the Hexagon Players production of BETM. He has studied dance, voice and musical theater at Class Act Performing Arts Studio and has also privately studied Dance at Dance Molinari (NYC) and also has privately studied voice with Adam Roebuck (NY/NJ).
Although this was his first time playing Billy Elliot on stage, it is far from being his performing debut. Indeed, James has a performance resume that would be the envy of many an adult professional artist.
His recent theatrical credits include:
- A Christmas Story The Musical (Randy)
- Bonnie & Clyde The Musical (Young Clyde)
- Into the Woods (Jack)
- Peter Pan (Michael Darling)
In this TV news feature clip, which aired days before the show opened in December, 2014, the co-director/co-choreographer and three members of the child cast of A Christmas Story The Musical at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in St. Paul, Minnesota are interviewed. Inter-spliced with the interviews is film footage of rehearsal scenes from the show. Look for James in the green shirt:
A very in demand actor, James also has numerous TV, Film and Voice Over credits on his resume. Just to name a few of those:
TV
- USA Network’s Donny! (Guest Star)
Film
- Newlyweeds (2013) (Museum Kid)
- Reflection (2014) (Alex Mills)
- Stupid & Demented (2015) (Robert-John)
In April of 2016, the Hexagon Players released this video with the intent of introducing James to the public:
