Óscar first auditioned for the role of Billy in March 2016.  He was one of a select group of boys to be chosen to commence training at the Billy Elliot School in Madrid, which was specially created to train potential Billys and Michaels.  Óscar attended the Billy School every weekend for a few months, at which point the Billy hopefuls were whittled down to just 17 candidates, of which Óscar was one of them.

Training continued for a further year at the Billy School, where Óscar took classes in all the skills he would need to learn to be Billy, including ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatics, acting and singing.  In early September 2017, after 18 months of training, it was announced that Óscar would be one of the six Madrid Billys.

Óscar was the fourth of the six Billys to debut in Madrid.  His first performance on 26-Sep-2017 made him the 223rd actor worldwide to play the role of Billy Elliot in a professional, regional or community theatre production of the musical.
