Meet Billy Elliot: Pixie Dust Productions (Portland, OR)

The intimate 880-seat Newmark Theatre was designed to emulate the Edwardian-style theaters of Europe with no seat farther than 65 feet from the stage.

Pixie Dust Productions presents Billy Elliot The Musical (BETM) at the Newmark Theatre in Portland, Oregon, from September 16 to October 1, 2017.  It will be the first production for Pixie Dust Productions staged in the Newmark Theatre.

As one Portland area theater critic stated in a review, Pixie Dust Productions is Producer/Director Greg Tamblyn’s baby.  From the company’s website: “Pixie Dust is a one man operation surrounded by incredibly talented artists that are thrilled to be working at this level.”  Its goal is to bring high-end musical theatre entertainment to Portland for many years to come.

Greg Tamblyn has been involved in Portland theatre for over 25 years.  In the recent past he’s brought to the Portland stage such shows as:

    • The Full Monty
    • The Wizard of Oz
    • Legally Blonde The Musical
    • Disney’s Beauty and the Beast
    • La Cage Aux Folles
    • I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change

As previously mentioned, this production of BETM will take place at the Newmark Theatre, one of three performance spaces in the Antoinette Hatfield Hall in Portland.  It is sponsored by local realtors The Hasson Company.

The cast of the Pixie Dust Production of Billy Elliot The Musical will be led by an accomplished dancer, new to the role of Billy.  He is Summit Geiselman.
