A production of Billy Elliot the Musical (BETM) was presented in Sandvika, Norway, from June 7-12, 2022 by Koffers Produksjoner. This was delayed from January 2022 due to Covid-19. The show was performed on the Sandvika Teater stage, which is part of Bærum Kulturhus, one of Norway’s leading cultural venues.
Koffers Produksjoner have previously produced other large musicals, including Annie and Legally Blonde the Musical.
There was a long preparation process leading up to the opening of this production of BETM. Initial auditions for the child roles were held in September 2020 and training/rehearsals for the young cast started soon after this. Further auditions were then held in March 2021 to cast the adult roles.
The lead role of Billy in Sandvika was played by Peter Hjellnes-Moseng.
