Silas Lorenz was 11 years when he debuted as Billy Elliot in Vaasa, Finland. He is home-schooled.
Silas auditioned for Billy Elliot the Musical alongside his older brother, Kalle. Unlike Kalle, Silas had no previous dance experience. Despite this, the audition panel must have seen potential in Silas, as both he and his brother were chosen to play the lead role of Billy.
For the past year Silas has been attending a “Billy School” in order to learn all the necessary skills required to perform such a demanding role. This includes ballet, tap, singing and acting.
Silas’s debut as Billy on 14-Sep-2017 makes him the 215th actor worldwide to play the role in a professional, regional or community theatre production of the musical.
