Note: Wisse’s final show as Billy in the Netherlands production of the show was on 5-Nov-2015.
Debut: 12-Jul-2015 (The Netherlands)
Total Performances: 18 (No partial shows)
Wisse Scheele was 12-years-old (D.O.B. = 24-Dec-2002) upon his debut as Billy and is from Gouda, a city and municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. Wisse lives with his parents and a brother, and has a pet rabbit.
He’s been dancing since the age of three and currently studies at the National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam where he is in the second year studying classic ballet, world dance and contemporary. Wisse says “The coolest thing about dancing is that you’re free and you’re not. And you can really go for it, and if you do that, you’ll succeed most of the time.”
Two years ago he saw Billy Elliot the Musical in London. After seeing it, he said to his father, “If this ever comes to The Netherlands I want to do be in it”.
Wisse says the best things about playing Billy is the flying, Angry Dance and the Finale. Angry Dance because it’s really angry, there’s a lot of emotion in it. The Finale because everyone is doing the same dance and I like that as well. It’s very happy.
Here’s a video, posted by Wisse on his Youtube channel, which demonstrates some of his dance skills:

He says his dream is to get into the National Ballet as first soloist and then maybe even farther, like, maybe in England.
In this video, Wisse introduces himself and relates what it’s been like preparing to become Billy. It’s in Dutch, but it contains some rehearsal footage of Wisse’s preparations for the role before his debut and, even if the viewer doesn’t speak Dutch, a good appreciation of Wisse’s personality can be seen.

His long preparations for the role came to a conclusion upon his debut as Billy at the AFAS Circus Theatre in The Hague on Sunday, July 12, 2015. He is the 10th Billy (3rd in the 2nd cast of Billys) to lead the Dutch production of BETM and the 102nd boy worldwide to professionally play the role.
