Meet Billy Elliot: BOBDIREX at Marian University Theatre (Indianapolis, IN)

BOBDIREX presented a production of Billy Elliot the Musical (BETM) at the 485-seat Marian University Theatre in Indianapolis, IN, from June 24 to July 10, 2016.

BOBDIREX is a not for profit theatre company that was founded in 2010 by Bob Harbin. They have the following mission statement – “excellent production values with tight budgets, diversity in casting and dedication to the growth of the youth of Indianapolis.”

Before fully committing to mounting a production of BETM, BOBDIREX held auditions for the parts of Billy and Michael in early January 2016, in order to ascertain whether there was suitable talent available to fill these roles.  Fortunately the auditions were a success and so further auditions were held throughout February to cast all the other roles.

The actor who was cast in the role of Billy and who led the BODIREX cast is Thomas Whitcomb.
