The Croswell Opera House in Adrian, MI, was the home of a regional production of Billy Elliot the Musical (BETM) from June 11-26, 2016. The Croswell Opera House seats 650 patrons.
The Croswell Opera House has been in existence since 1866, and is the oldest theatre in Michigan. It is also one of the oldest continuously operating theatres in the whole of the USA. Their aim is to produce professional-calibre productions in a community theatre setting. They also provide a high quality educational experience for young performers in the area by exposing them to high standards and giving them the chance to work with industry professionals.
Every year the Croswell’s Broadway season runs from May to December and features six to eight full-scale musicals. BETM featured in their 2016 season, a notable year, as it was the year the Croswell celebrated its 150th anniversary.
The Croswell Opera House’s presentation of BETM was led by two young actors, both of whom were making their debuts in the role of Billy Elliot. They are Landon Brimacombe and Cole Carrico.
