Meet Billy Elliot: Dominik Sowa

    Note: Dominik’s last show as Billy in the Polish production of the show at the Teatr Rozrywki in Chorzow was in November 2015 (exact date unknown).

    Dominik Sowa ThumbA student at the Secondary School of Music, Dominik previously attended the School of Music SUZUKI.

    In January 2015, he took second place in the National Auditions for Music School students and second degrees. The prize was an invitation to participate in a program by the European Krzysztof Penderecki Music Centre in collaboration with the Centre for Artistic Education master of orchestral workshops.

    He made his stage debut on in S. Moniuszko’s Halka in the Silesian Opera (end of the Jubilee Year), and later landed a role in Phantom (also on the stage of the Opera). He played well in Boris Godunov and, more recently, in the resumption of the opera Tannhäuser. In the musical Oliver!  at the Teatr Rozrywki, Dominik played  both one of the boys from the orphanage and also a member of Fagin’s gang. 

    Besides things in the music/entertainment areas, Dominik is also interested in football (he has played for the Zbrosławicach Falcons.

    He debuted in the first show in Chorzow, becoming the 91st actor in the world to professionally do so.
