Haydn May was 11 years old at the time of his debut and is from Bath, in the southwest of England.
Haydn’s dance training has included training at the Dorothy Coleborn School of Dancing. He’s also been a Junior Associate of the Royal Ballet and is an associate member of Tap Attack in Swindon.
Haydn is a trained gymnast, having studied and competed at the Bristol Hawks Gymmastics Club. At the 2013 National Grades Finals, Haydn competed for the South West Gymnastics team.
Previous to BETM, Haydn’s stage experience includes appearing at the Theatre Royal in Bath as ‘Chip’ in Beauty and the Beast (2011), a munchkin in The Wizard of Oz (2012), and ‘Michael’ in Peter Pan (2013).
Haydn was the third of the UK/Ireland tour Billys to debut in the role. When he performed for the first time, on 26-Feb-2016, he became the 126th Billy in the world.

Before the show’s final stop in Hamburg, Germany, Haydn, along with one of the Michaels (Henry Farmer), travelled to Berlin to appear on a TV show in order to promote the upcoming performances in Hamburg. Here is a video of their performance on the show, where they performed a mashup of Express Yourself and Born to Boogie:
