Matteo Valentini was 14 years old (D.O.B. = 1-Jun-2003) when he made his debut as Billy Elliot in the Third Italian Tour of BETM. He lives in Rome.
Matteo has had an interest in the performing arts from a very young age, and his first artistic interest was playing the drums, which he took up when he was seven years old. Then a year later, when Matteo was eight, his parents were asked if they would like to sign him up to an agency. His mother wasn’t very keen on the idea, but his father signed him up just for a bit of fun. At the very first audition Matteo attended he was chosen for a small part in the Italian TV series Un Medico in Famiglia, and he said that it was “the most beautiful day of his life”. At this point his mother gave up trying to stop him pursuing a career in the arts.

Since 2017 Matteo has starred in the lead role of ‘Nick’ in brand new kids’ TV series New School, which airs on Super! and Deakids.
Over the years he has also appeared in numerous films, including:
- Banana (2013)
- Scusate se esisto (Tommaso, 2014)
- Storie sospese (Angelo, 2014)
- Gli ultimi saranno ultimi (Mario, 2015)
In 2014 Matteo featured in singer Marco Mengoni’s music video Guerriero, which has had over 73 million views on YouTube to date.
