Theatre 13 was founded in 2009 by New Orleans theatre artists Gary Rucker and Kelly Fouchi as a side project to the already successful FourFront Theatre, which they co-founded in 2008. The mission of Theatre 13 is to bring new and exciting productions to the New Orleans area while providing local theatre artists an opportunity to perform and create. Theatre 13 produces a wide range of professional theatrical performances, from musicals to children’s theatre to more controversial and thought-provoking works.
In 2012, the City of Kenner awarded Theatre 13 the management contract for what is now known as The Rivertown Theaters for the Performing Arts.
Rivertown Theaters for the Performing Arts is a theater company dedicated to bringing performance entertainment to the New Orleans area. The theaters were founded as a place for local artists to learn, perform, and produce. Rivertown Theaters hosts a range of performance events, including musicals, children’s plays, and dramatic theater productions. The theaters are located just a short drive outside of New Orleans in Kenner, Louisiana.
The organization currently produces shows for two venues which are across a courtyard from each other: The Mainstage Theater and the Lagniappe Stage. BETM will be presented at the 275-seat Mainstage Theater, from January 13-29, 2017.
A 43 member cast will be led by Marcel Cavaliere, a very experienced young dancer who will be playing Billy in this production for the first time.
