After the huge success of the show in the UK, Australia and the US, Billy Elliot the Musical (BETM) opened at the LG Arts Center on August 13, 2010 in Seoul, South Korea — the first non-English speaking country where it had ever played. The show ran for 233 performances in an almost seven month period, closing on February 28, 2011.
The cast was originally led by four Billys and a fifth was added later.
