The Square Foot Theatre in Wallingford, CT, will present a regional production of Billy Elliot the Musical (BETM) from August 10-13, 2017.
The Square Foot Theatre began life in 2007, known at that time as Quick Change Productions. The company didn’t have a place to call home, so they performed at all sorts of different venues around New Haven County – from Middle School to High School Auditorium, from gyms, to local store fronts.
In December 2010 The Square Foot Theatre came into being, and officially became a not-for-profit theatre company in 2013. It wasn’t until 2015 that they found a permanent home in Wallingford.
Square Foot produces many shows each season and over the years has produced more than 40 full scale musicals. Besides BETM, other musicals presented this season include Rock of Ages, The Little Mermaid, La Cage Aux Folles and Godspell.
The Square Foot Theatre will provide a different type of setting for BETM than has been seen in other regional productions. At Square Foot the audience sits around tables, and are encouraged to bring their own food and drink to enjoy while watching the show. A total of 20 tables seating just 84 patrons will provide a very intimate setting for this production of BETM.
The Square Foot Theatre cast will be led by Charlie Pelletier, who will be taking on the role of Billy for his second time in a regional production of the show.
