A regional production of Billy Elliot the Musical (BETM) was presented by Mecca Productions at the Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium in Brandon, MB, from October 27-29, 2016.

logo-resizeMecca Productions was founded in 2001 with a single goal – to share their love for musical theatre with children.  Since then it has grown from a small group meeting for an hour a week into a group that produces multiple full scale productions a year, featuring actors of all ages.

In late June auditions were held to cast their production of BETM.  They selected a very large cast made up of local area talent, with rehearsals starting in early September.

The role of Billy Elliot was shared by brothers Brody Burr and Carson Burr.  This is a landmark moment for BETM as it was the first time ever in the eleven and a half year history of the show that brothers had both played the role of Billy.
